ESP Education & Leadership Institute (ESP) and BOSS founder Everett Glenn was selected from among 5 million TRIO alumni as one of the 2018 National TRIO Achievers. Everett will be in great company in NYC as the Council for Opportunity in Education (Council) will also present its first-ever TRIO Family Achievement Award to Academy Award, Tony Award and Emmy Award winning Viola Davis, her mom and four sisters, all Upward Bound participants, college graduates and successful professionals in their own right. The National TRIO Achiever’s Award was created by the Council as a tribute to the success and outstanding endeavors of TRIO students and the programs that supported them in their journey to accomplished careers. The award will be presented at the Annual Educational Opportunity Dinner on September 13, 2018 as part of the Council’s 37th Annual Conference from the Marriott Marquis, 1535 Broadway, New York, NY, that will bring together more than 1,500 college access professionals. The Council is a nonprofit organization established in 1981 and dedicated to furthering the expansion of college opportunities for low-income, first-generation students, and students with disabilities in all 50 states, Washington, D.C., the Pacific Islands, and Puerto Rico. The Council works with more than 1,000 colleges, universities and agencies to help low-income students enter and graduate college. “The success of Everett, Viola and her siblings is a prime example of why support for education is an investment that strengthens families and communities,” said Maureen Hoyler, President and CEO of the Council. “
